General specifications

Manufacture
All British made, not imported. Spares readily available.

Safety
Equipment is designed to meet the stringent new European safety requirements of BSEN 1176.

Platforms
A galvanised steel deck gives non-slip long lasting maintenance free platform with curved and smooth edges provides a safe play area. Deck area is 800mm x 800mm.

Rope play points
Extremely heavy wearing steel cored 16.0mm diameter polypropylene is used throughout the rope units. Ropes are connected/joined using a patented pressed 'knot'. Ropes are connected to the platforms via 10.0mm corrosion resistant stainless steel shackles. Splinter free recycled plastic is used in place of timber treads.

Pillars
Heavy-duty 90mm diameter tubes give the play equipment a rigid centre structure and also provide a solid/chunky appearance to the equipment. Tube ends are sealed with welded end caps.

Roofs
All steel welded structure provided shade/weather cover. Roof panel is a single sheet metal panel formed & welded to onto the tubular arches, which in turn bolt onto the pillars.

Finish
Where painted all steel components are shot blasted to SA2.5, degreased, etch primed with a zinc phosphate anti-corrosive primer and polyester powder coated baked onto the steelwork. Play components are painted in one of 4 colours: red, green, blue or yellow. If required at an extra cost the components can be galvanised prior to powder coating.

Fasteners
All fasteners are grade 8.8 high tensile, zinc plated against corrosion. All bolt heads are 'anti-vandal' to give a smooth surface & all nuts are anti vandal 'lock nuts'.

Play points
Predominantly all welded steel construction. The use of nuts & bolts is minimised so as to eliminate the possibility of their removal/vandalism, grab hand loops are welded to the pillars.

None slip surfaces
Where foot grip is required the painted surface had a hardwearing non-slip coating applied, plastic walkways have a non-slip embossed surface.

Chains
All chains are manufactured to the European standard BSEN ISO 1834 and are hot dip galvanised.

Slides
Single piece all welded stainless steel slides. High grade 316 stainless steel is used throughout the slide, all edges are protected with safety edges and all handgrips are of a tubular section. Slides are polished after manufacture to remove weld beads.

Plastic components
Splinter free recycled plastic is used in place of timber components.

Recyclable
At the end of its life all Urban Play Systems are fully recyclable so as to ensure we protect the environment and ensure the safe future for our children.
